Our objective is to create and realise shareholder value through the acquisition, development, and management of high-quality urban and resort hotel assets within global emerging markets. We diversify business and development risks through geographic spread, property type and customer base and manage our current business through geographic focus on three principal regions: Asia, Middle East North Africa (MENA) and Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and have business operations in 15 countries.
Our strategy consists of:
- Acquiring and developing urban and resort hotel properties with
superior growth potential within emerging markets, where there
are attractive growth prospects and a strong potential to achieve
above-average risk adjusted returns;
- Enhancing property asset values through active asset management
and adding value to developments through ancillary real estate
pre-sales ahead of construction;
- Achieving stabilised annual capital returns in excess of our cost of
capital (we currently target returns of between 10% and 15% before
gearing), and realising cash returns through refinancings, monetisation
and disposals with a view to recycling our capital;
- Recruiting, developing, aligning and compensating our people
within an entrepreneurial but structured operating environment.
